Dr Katherine Henderson: A Covid President – what I learned about healthcare systems and Emergency Medicine in a time of crisis

KEYNOTE LECTURE

Katherine is the immediate Past President of RCEM. Nearly all of her Presidency coincided with the Covid pandemic. She is a Consultant (and previous clinical lead) at St Thomas’ Hospital in London. She is interested in risk management, patient safety and clinical decision making. Her skiing bio does involve completing the Engadin Ski marathon 10 times but was regularly beaten by a man dressed as a goat, she has ski toured (again badly) in the Caucasus mountains, living off lamb and yogurt and her downhill skiing style has been compared to the motion of a marmot.
