Going the extra mile: Interdepartmental teamwork – Dr Lucy Longbottom & Dr Suzy Connor

Lucy works in Cornwall as a Clinical Fellow in EM with Specialist Interest in Expedition Medicine. When not working on mountain and marine expeditions as a medic or mountain leader; Lucy volunteers with British Exploring Society, to support young people to engage with the outdoors on expeditions, and works as a lifeboat crew member.

Suzy is an EM consultant at Derriford Hospital, Plymouth. Along with her friends, Hannah, Annette and Anna, she helped set up ski-Ed in 2017 when she was a SW trainee. Thanks to ideas from ski-Ed talks over the years, she now works in Global Health, volunteers at Glastonbury Festival and is U.K. co-chair for the PTRC ( paediatric trauma resus course ). Outside of work she enjoys running and cycling on Dartmoor, trying to keep up with her family. She is a big fan of a packed lunch.
