SKI-ED Organising Committee and founders
Somewhere above Morzine, on a chairlift in January 2016, 4 ED doctors were enjoying a ski weekend. Hannah shared her vision to organise a conference, aimed at ED doctors, in the Alps. The others did not take much persuasion. Here’s the SKI ED team…
Dr Suzy Connor

Suzy is an EM consultant at Derriford Hospital, Plymouth. Along with her friends, Hannah, Annette and Anna, she helped set up ski-Ed in 2017 when she was a SW trainee.
Thanks to ideas from ski-Ed talks over the years, she now works in Global Health, volunteers at Glastonbury Festival and is U.K. co-chair for the PTRC (paediatric trauma resus course).
Outside of work she enjoys running and cycling on Dartmoor, trying to keep up with her family. She is a big fan of a packed lunch.
Dr Annette Rickard

Annette is a co-founder of the SKI-ED conference and very much the most terrible skier of the group, despite loving the challenge!
She is an EM Consultant at Derriford in Plymouth. Having spent 19 years as a doctor in the British Army, her works interests now include getting end of life care right and medical education. She is the Director of Medical Education at Plymouth.
She loves adventures with friends and family, especially sailing, swimming and travelling, although her three kids are all better at these things than she is now…
Dr Anna Shekhdar

Anna is a consultant In Emergency Medicine at the Royal Cornwall Hospital and is also the Medical Director for Endeavour Medical.
She loves all things outdoors, lives by (and in!) the sea and travels to the mountains whenever possible. As Mum of 2 energetic boys, as well as a lively vizsler dog, she is always involved in some sort of sporting challenge!
Anna helped to set up SKI-ED in a quest to follow her passion for skiing and to hopefully inspire others to get out there in the white stuff too!
Dr Hannah Stewart

Hannah Stewart is an ED and PEM consultant at the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital. Professional passions are all things PEM – with a particular interest in paediatric sedation, critical illness and resuscitation.
Having previously worked in Australia and on various far flung expeditions, she is now settled in Devon with three children. She remains a huge proponent of working in different healthcare systems and the development of portfolio careers.
Hannah keeps the team in check and basically ensures the smooth running of the entire conference!
